Justice - The young, lovable pup with a Big Mange Problem |
|
"Justice was found stray with a collar embedded in his neck. He is THE worst case of mange that we have ever seen. He has infection all over his body from being left in this condition for months. Someone left him outside to die in the cold... but fate lead him to the shelter. CCHS took him into the adoption program where we has already started treatment."
After visiting the Vet for the first time, Justice the pup was in high spirits despite his debilitating demodex mange infection. They found out that the mange mites were even in his stool. He also was diagnosed with a secondary staph infection, a yeast infection in his ears, conjuntivitis in his eyes, and is 20 lbs shy of a healthy weight; weighing in at about 51 lbs. Luckily for Justice, the heartworm test came up negative and he is free of internal parasites!
Two weeks into treatment, they used donated products from PetsBestRx™ Mange & Mite Kennel Combo, which includes Sulfinex Cream, Mitactin spray and Medicated Pet Wash daily, while also upping his vet-prescribed antibiotics. At Week 3, they began using PetsBestRx™ Mud Packs to condition and soothe his skin. Below are pictures of his ongoing treatment process.
