Red Mange
Is it he same thing as Demodex Mange?

Demodectic mange, also known as "red mange," is an inflammatory parasitic disease of the skin. There are several names for red mange such as demo mange, demodex mange, demodectic mange, red fox mange and the seven year itch mange.

Demo mange, if present, usually occurs within the first two years of life. Demodex can also occur later on in life and is also commonly known as "adult onset demodicosis." Demodex is hereditary and is passed on via an animal's genetics. Additionally Red mange is not passed on by direct contact and not considered contagious. For this reason, demodex is not a desirable trait and recommended that these pets are not breed. The pet in question should be surgically altered to prevent further spreading of this type of mange.

It is also important to note that not all cases of demodex mange are readily and easily treated by using proven mange medicine and mange creams. Some cases can be very difficult to get rid of mange; for instance if infection is present. This may make the treatment period longer, complicated and more costly. It is impossible to predict how each case will turn out so it is important to begin as soon as possible to decrease the risk of treatment failure. We offer a 98.5% success rate on our Pets'BestRx mange treatment if used as directed. Our mange medicine eliminates dog and cat mange without harmful pesticides.

Red Mange usually occurs in puppies 3 to 9 months of age; this is 75% the case. Red Mange starts as a scaly, rough areas on teh skin with slight hair loss. It usually begins on the face and then works itself down to the forelimbs. Because the early lesions resemble a rug burn, that is how it got the name of Red Mange.

In 10% to 20% of the cases of Red Mange, pustualar pockets form on the skin; this indicates infection. At this stage of the skin disease, the skin becomes greasy, red, swollen, inflammed and scabby. It is not uncommon to have a septic smell or mousy odor. Then itchness from the secondary bacterial infection occurs. If the condition is allowed to progress, the condition could be fatal due to the overwhelming sepsis.

When the skin is raw and inflammed, putting your pet through harsh chemicals will actually cause your dog more harm than good. Can you imagine having raw inflammed skin, and then pouring alchol on it? Well that's what your dog would be facing if you chose to treat him with toxic mange dips.

There is a safer and easier method using non toxic medicated mange creams and mange treatments.
